I have discovered that trying to keep a blog updated at the same time as riding approximately 200 miles a day, dealing with a few work matters, selecting/re-sizing photos and planning the route for the following day is actually not that easy!
So based on the fact that I have not updated the blog for a few days I have become lazy and wrapped up two days in to one update!
While staying in Vielha I had planned a couple of circular routes.
Some interesting aspects from the two days riding…there were two long tunnels on my routes one over 5km (Vielha) and one about 3km (Aragnouet), but it is the latter one that is odd, it has two lanes, but when I travelled through they were only allowing traffic in one direction at a time.
There are lots of these short tunnels.

The following photo does not really capture how mad the side of this mountain looked, it looked like part of the mountain had just slid away.

In the area there were lots of areas made up of the same stuff, it honestly looked like someone had piled it up at the side of the road, weird.

Whilst riding in the middle of nowhere I saw the following through the trees.

I initially thought it was an abandoned farm or something similar, though did not understand the reason for all the vehicles, until i reached another gap in the trees.

I have no idea what the story is, but it looked really out of place!

I have been on the look out for somewhere to get good shots of ‘wiggly’ roads, but not really seeing any, they normally disappear into the landscape, these are the best I have managed so far.

Open question…does anyone know why some places appear to leave their Christmas decorations up all year round? I have been through several French villages that this is the case.
